High School friends Paulette Orr & Meryl Katlin reunite in order to keep us all safe in a stylish way.
Paulette who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia is a Nova High School graduate & Meryl graduated from Hollywood Hills High School in Hollywood both here in South Florida back in the 80’s.
This zoom meeting was the 1st time they have seen each other in many, many years.
There was a lot of reminiscing about the days of working at Jordan Marsh together, platform shoes, Nik Nik shirts and the concerts they attended together.
There is a mutual admiration for one another and you can tell that they are an inspiration to each other.
Paulette has a fashion design background for many years and recently began creating
COVID-19 masks and donating them to those in need.
She is sewing these masks for many hours a day in addition to working full time for a bank. Her goal initially was to give back but her designs got so popular that due the demand Paulette turned it into a business with the help of Merly’s company MakeATeeOnline who does the actual printing of the masks.
There is definitely an art in designing and sewing these masks together.
Paulette’s future plans are to expand to street wear such as tees , cargo pants, shorts, rompers, etc. Possibly some bucket hats that appear to be making somewhat of a come back.
It just shows that when a person’s focus is to help others, sometimes the idea can turn into something on a much bigger scale.
